About The Event

Created by sound artist Anne Marie Deacy, this immersive sound installation invites audiences to experience the resonance of Mayo Dark Sky Park at Wild Nephin National Park through listening, vibration and place.

Developed over time in Wild Nephin, the work presents sonic snapshots of the seasons — from dawns to dusks, from subtle natural sounds to powerful atmospheric moments — encouraging visitors to pause and reflect on our sensory connection to land, time and the cosmos.

The installation will premiere during the festival weekend in the glass viewing room on the rooftop at Ballycroy Visitor Centre, with the artist on site to guide visitors in small groups and answer questions about the work.

This project is presented with the support of, and with gratitude to, Wilderland, NPWS Park Rangers, Ballycroy Visitor Centre, Mayo Dark Sky Festival Team, Creative Ireland, Mayo County Arts Services, North Mayo Heritage Centre, and artist Elaine Harrington.
