The Festival Opening Event takes place at 7:00pm on Friday 31 October 2025 at Ballycroy Visitor Centre and marks the official start of the Mayo Dark Sky Festival.
The evening begins with a formal welcome and opening of the festival, followed by a special musical performance by internationally renowned traditional musician Emer Mayock. Guests will then enjoy refreshments before heading outdoors for stargazing and a guided dark sky walk, weather permitting.
Due to limited capacity at the venue, entry is by pre-booked ticket only, priced at €5.
